Privacy notice

Last updated: 4 June 2026

This notice explains how The Landlord Advocacy collects and uses your personal information when you contact us or use this website. We keep it short and plain on purpose.

Who we are

The Landlord Advocacy is a specialist HMO penalty consultancy based in England. We are the "data controller" for the information you give us. You can reach us at thelandlordadvocacy@gmail.com.

What we collect

When you submit the enquiry form, we collect the details you choose to give us — typically your name, email address, phone number, the council involved, and a description of your situation. We only ask for what we need to assess your enquiry and respond to you.

Why we use it

Our lawful basis is your consent when you contact us, and our legitimate interest in responding to and managing enquiries. If you become a client, we also process your information to perform our contract with you.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We only share it where necessary to handle your case — for example, with a barrister we instruct on your behalf, or where we are legally required to. We use trusted service providers (such as our email and form provider) to run this website and our communications.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond to you. If you become a client, we keep your records for as long as we work together and for a reasonable period afterwards, in line with our legal and professional obligations, after which we securely delete them.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To do any of these, email us at thelandlordadvocacy@gmail.com.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
